Costs
Student fees make up only a portion of the cost of attending a university. As you plan financially for college, you also need to consider room and board, books, and transportation, which can amount to more than half your costs.
Undergraduates pay the same UC systemwide fees at all campuses. Other expenses will depend on the campus and living situation.
The box below provides estimates of typical costs before financial aid for the 2009–10 academic year (three quarters or two semesters) for a California resident who lives in UC housing. For non-California resident students, tuition and fees amount to an additional $22,021. Total actual costs for 2009–10 and 2010–11 may be higher.

Fee Exemptions
Under California law, certain students (including children
of disabled United States veterans) may be exempt from specific
UC systemwide fees. Further information on UC fee exemptions
