UC in D.C.
Students interested in learning more about the
United States government and political system can live in the capital
for a semester through the University's
Washington Center. In addition to taking a research seminar
at the center, you can participate in center-sponsored trips and
activities as well as biweekly forums that often feature members
of Congress, ambassadors and UC faculty. Internships are the centerpiece
of the program, and students from all majors are accepted. In the
past, engineering students have worked in the Department of Transportation,
while biological science students have gained experience at the
National Institutes of Health. Communications majors might work
for the Voice of America, or history students at the Smithsonian
Institution.
