Pregnancy Discrimination Act of 1978
Prohibits discrimination in employment based on pregnancy, childbirth, or other related conditions
California Fair Employment and Housing Act, G.C. 12940–12951
Prohibits employment discrimination and harassment on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, ancestry, medical condition (cancer-related or genetic characteristics), marital status, sex, age, physical and mental disability, or sexual orientation. [The term "sex" includes gender identity, pregnancy, childbirth, or medical conditions related to pregnancy and childbirth.]
