Research Programs for Undergraduate Students
- California Alliance for Minority Participation (CAMP)
CAMP is a program for under-represented students supported by the National Science Foundation. Through peer mentoring and tutoring and faculty mentored research opportunities, CAMP supports student development and completion of the B.S. degree in science, engineering, and mathematics.
- MESA: Mathematics, Engineering, Science Achievement Program
One of the country's most innovative and successful programs, MESA works with thousands of educationally disadvantaged students so they excel in math and science and graduate with math-based degrees.
- SAGE: Student Achievement Guided by Experience
SAGE provides comprehensive multi-year paid internships, extensive mentoring, workshops and financial support to promising, economically disadvantaged students during college.
- Summer Research Opportunities
The University of California campuses offer summer research opportunities to students who have an interest in pursuing doctoral study. These internship programs provide students with one-on-one mentorship and the chance to work on research projects in a "graduate school" setting. Most of these summer programs are designed primarily for juniors; in some cases, seniors and Master's level students may be accommodated.
- University of California Leadership Excellence Through Advanced Degrees (UC LEADS)
UC LEADS is a two-year, undergraduate research program for UC students in the science, technology, engineering, and mathematics fields.
