Campus Selection Policies — UC Riverside

All Colleges

Students will be selected primarily on the basis of academic preparation and performance, as assessed by review of the criteria described in the minimum admission requirements.

120 or More Units

Applications from UC-eligible applicants with 120 quarter (80 semester) units or more of transfer credit will be reviewed by the Dean of the College for completion of a specified pattern of courses that provides continuity with upper division courses within the major.

College of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences: Business Administration

Additional emphasis is placed on preparation in the selection of students to the major in Business Administration. Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 2.5 in transferable coursework and complete all breadth requirements (or the IGETC) and seven of 10 published major prerequisites.

The Marlan and Rosemary Bourns College of Engineering

Students will be selected on the basis of academic preparation as assessed by their GPA in academic coursework, completion of required major preparatory coursework and a minimum GPA of 2.8 in all transferable coursework.

College of Natural and Agricultural Sciences

Students will be selected primarily on the basis of academic preparation, as assessed by GPA in academic coursework and strength in preparation for the intended major. Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 2.7 in transferable coursework. Applicants for majors in biochemistry, biological sciences, biology, botany and plant sciences,  and chemistry must have completed one-year course sequences in three specified areas of science and mathematics.
