Limited Status

A limited status applicant is a non-degree-seeking student and will be held to the same restrictions as applicants seeking a second B.A. or B.S. degree. Admissions will be on an individual basis, and there is no guarantee of admission to the undergraduate college or to a particular major.

UC Berkeley

Only the College of Chemistry will consider admitting students in limited status. Students who are not eligible for the second baccalaureate program or limited status programs may consider concurrent enrollment through UC Berkeley Extension. For information, call (510) 642-4111.

UC Davis

Applications are considered only in the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences. Petitions are available on the UC Davis Admissions website.

UC Irvine

Limited status admission requirements are the same as those for graduate admission, with the exception that Graduate Record Examination scores are not required. The application fee for limited status is $60 (non-refundable).

UCLA

UCLA does not accept applications from limited status students.

UC Merced

Admission to a limited status program will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

UC Riverside

The Office of Undergraduate Admissions will determine the eligibility and then refer the file to the Dean’s Office of Student Academic Affairs for further evaluations and recommendation.

UC San Diego

UC San Diego does not accept applications from students seeking limited status.

UC Santa Barbara

UC Santa Barbara accepts very few limited status candidates. Students are restricted to enrolling in courses for their designated field of study. Limited status is not open to international students.
