Allan Buch Memorial Scholarship Fund
The University of California Trust (UK) invites UC Education Abroad Programme students studying in the United Kingdom during 2008-09 to apply for grants from the Allan Buch Memorial Scholarship Fund. The Buch fund provides grants as part of a general enrichment program designed for EAP students to make the most of their year abroad. Allan Buch and his wife Jill and founded Berkeley in Britain, an alumni group for Cal alumni in the UK. Allan was a basketball legend on the Berkeley campus and a successful entrepreneur.
Melanie Woiwode Memorial Scholarship Fund
The University of California Trust (UK) invites UC Education Abroad Programme students studying in the United Kingdom and Ireland during 2008-09 to apply for grants from the newly established Melanie Woiwode Scholarship Fund. The Woiwode fund provides grants to women students to undertake sporting activities during their year abroad in the UK or Ireland. Melanie Woiwode was a vibrant woman of grace and passion who lived and worked in London. Melanie was a passionate sportwoman; her friends set up this scholarship fund in her memory to encourage women to undertake life-changing experiences – especially connected to sport- during their study abroad year in the UK and Ireland.
