President Dynes' visit to Napa, Oct. 2004

President Dynes meets one of the beneficiaries of UC’s agricultural extension efforts at Silacci Dairy in Petaluma. UC researchers and advisors provide hand-on assistance on nutrient management, water quality and ranch planning to improve productivity and cost-efficiency.

Bob speaks to UC researchers, faculty and staff at the UC Davis Bodega Marine Laboratory.

Bob learns about the latest research being conducted – with the coastline and tidal pools being used as real-life laboratories.

Bodega Head has been a field site for researchers and students since the 1920s. On average about 100 UC faculty and researchers are at work at the laboratory every day – conducting research that ranges from fisheries management to cell biology to marine habitats and environmental impacts. UC undergraduates and graduate students also use the site as a valuable hands-on laboratory. The lab also conducts tours and K-12 educational experiences for school children.
