Monica
Lozano is the Senior Vice President of Newspapers
for Impremedia LLC, the number one Hispanic news
and information company in the United States in
online and print. Ms. Lozano is also the publisher
and Chief Executive Officer of La Opinión
Newspaper,which is the nation's largest Spanish-language
daily newspaper. She has worked at the newspaper,
which was founded by her family in 1926, since
1985. From 1999 to 2001, she was a member of the
California State Board of Education, serving as
its President for its 2000-01 session, and a member
of the California Postsecondary Education Commission.
Ms. Lozano currently serves on a number of corporate
and non-profit boards, the Board of Trustees for
the University of Southern California. Ms. Lozano
was appointed in 2001 by Governor Davis to a 12-year
term.
