This is our last chance to influence state budget negotiations. Ready to help?
Right now, state leadership and the Governor are in the final days of negotiating a 2022 budget agreement, and we need to make sure UC advocates have a voice at the table. Will you ask them to make critical investments in UC? With a state budget surplus of more than $97 billion, now’s the time to support higher education.
This is one our last opportunities to influence the budget outcome and making a phone call is one of the highest impact actions you can take. It will take less than 2 minutes, and we already have a phone script ready for you to review!
Tips for making a call:
Expect to speak with a staff member and be prepared to provide your name, town, and possibly your zip code.
Did you reach the office’s voicemail? That’s OK: leave a message! Explain that you're calling as a UC advocate and want the member to vote in support of full funding for the University of California in the state budget.
When you’re done, be sure to thank the staff member for talking with you.
This funding will allow UC to:
Boost resources to help more students achieve academic success, as well as expand college access and affordability for students and families across the state.
Repair aging buildings, increase energy efficiency, and add more classrooms and labs.
Support climate-focused research, innovation, and workforce development in California.
We’re also asking lawmakers to provide additional funding to increase access to UC for Californians, make critical seismic upgrades, and advance the university’s transition to clean energy.
Thank you for standing up for UC and for working with us to help grow California together.
Every day UC creates groundbreaking research, develops new health care solutions, and opens doors for students. None of it would be possible without federal funding.
