First-generation college students

First-generation college student is defined as a student where neither parent nor guardian have earned a four-year degree.

Freshman and transfer retention and graduation rates and time-to-degree by campus, entry cohort, demographic, and source school.
Revenue and expense data
Revenues and expenses by source/function, including or excluding DOE labs, systemwide and by campus, and option for inflation-adjusted figures.
Undergraduate representation gap analysis
Analysis of the gaps between the share of: high school graduates vs. freshman UC applicants, admits, and new enrollees and
California Community College (CCC) students vs. CCC-to-UC transfer applicants, admits, and new enrollees
by racial/ethnic group.
Research expenditure comparisons
Research expenditures of higher education institutions participating in the Higher Education Research and Development (HERD) survey are compared across institutions, by fund source, NSF disciplines, and subjects. UC’s percent share of expenditures is also shown by sector, fund source, and major federal fund sources.

Applicants, admits and enrollments by California high schools and California community colleges for freshmen and transfer entrants by source school, mean GPA, ethnicity and school.
Entry level writing requirement results
Data showing how incoming students met the Entry Level Writing Requirement (ELWR) by passing the Analytical Writing Placement Exam (AWPE) or other methods. Data are disaggregated by school and county.
Doctoral retention and completion
Persistence rates and 8 and 10 year degree completion rates for students pursuing the academic doctoral degree.
