As someone who understands the value of UC, we wanted you to know that State Senators Limón and Gonzalez have been committed allies to UC. Thanks to their partnership, the University of California helped bring home two big legislative wins that advance Presidential priorities to expand opportunities for academic success and promote health access across California. Senator Monique Limón authored Senate Bill 496 which connects patients with precision treatments for life-threatening diseases by ensuring most health plans, including Medi-Cal, cover biomarker testing. Senator Lena Gonzalez authored Senate Bill 633 which creates greater access to a UC degree by authorizing unused DREAM Loan funds to be awarded as additional grants.
