Add being a great value to the list of accolades for University of California campuses.
Seven UC campuses are in Kiplinger Personal Finance’s top 100 Best Values in Public Colleges for 2015, which are based on a set of criteria that includes academic quality and affordability.
Kiplinger’s has ranked colleges since 1998, and universities such as UC that appear regularly in the list demonstrate a commitment to delivering good value to students, the publication said.
Campuses ranked by Kiplinger’s are: UC Berkeley, fourth; UCLA, fifth; UC Santa Barbara, 16th; UC Irvine, 30th; UC San Diego, 31st; UC Davis, 37th; and UC Santa Cruz, 63rd.
The Best Values ranking takes into consideration admission and retention rates, student-faculty ratio, four-year graduation rate, tuition cost, financial aid generosity and student debt at graduation.
UC campuses routinely are rated highly at U.S. News and World Report, the Times Higher Education World University Rankings, Washington Monthly’s ranking of contribution to the public good and Shanghai Jiao Tong University’s Academic Ranking of World Universities.
