The newly released Times Higher Education World Reputation Rankings of 2016 feature six University of California campuses among the top 100 universities in the world.
UC Berkeley is the top-ranked public university in the United States at No. 6. UCLA took the 13th position and UC San Diego was tied for 35th place with the University of Wisconsin-Madison. UC San Francisco and UC Davis placed 42nd and 45th, and UC Santa Barbara rounded out the list by ranking in the top 80.
The Times Higher Education World Reputation Rankings are determined by the largest invitation-only academic opinion survey on the globe. It solicits views on research and teaching excellence from published scholars evenly distributed across academic disciplines.
The top 50 institutions are individually ranked; the second half of the list is grouped in tiers due to the narrow differentials between schools.
