UC Santa Cruz alumna Marizza Delgado (Rachel Carson ’21, technology and information management) was crowned Miss New York USA out of 170 contestants and will reign through July 2025.
The pageant winner and data scientist has modeled for international brands like H&M, Lululemon, Adidas, American Eagle, NorthFace, Target, Macy’s, and more. She has also walked two seasons of New York Fashion Week and can be seen on the pages of Seventeen Magazine, Cosmopolitan U.S., and Marie Claire Magazine.
Previously, Delgado was crowned Miss Earth New York, represented the state in the Miss Earth USA Pageant held in 2022, and placed in the top 20.
While living in Santa Cruz and attending UCSC, Delgado frequently commuted to modeling shoots in San Francisco. She says her skills in time management, her multipotentialite personality, and having her community on campus allowed her to keep up with her classes and pursue multiple passions.
A self described STEMinist and avid environmentalist, Delgado uses her platforms to advocate for the representation of women in STEM, and promote plant-based diets.
