UC campuses currently have more than $11.8 billion in unfunded capital needs across the 10-campus system. Assembly Bill (AB) 48 would place a measure on the March 2020 ballot that, if approved by voters, would allocate critical facilities’ resources to public K-12 and higher education. UC would use its allocation to address capacity expansion to accommodate enrollment increases and provide safe classrooms and labs, including seismic corrections.
