The World University Rankings, released in mid-May, evaluated nearly 20,000 universities around the globe to arrive at their assessment. The rankings placed seven UC campuses among the top 30 of all public universities in the United States, with four in the top 10: UC Berkeley (No. 1), UCLA (No. 3), UC San Diego (No. 7) and UC San Francisco (No. 9).
