These awards, totaling approximately $2.6 million, provide crucial support to outstanding faculty members who contribute significantly to the university’s diversity efforts.

Recipients of this prestigious award go on to earn Nobel Prizes, Fields Medals, and other accolades.

The magazine recognizes four inventions developed or advanced in UC laboratories among 200 products that TIME’s editors describe as “changing how we live, work, play, and think about what’s possible.”

They received the nation’s highest honor for their scientific and technological achievements.

The award recognizes the former governor’s steadfast advocacy and fiscal support for the creation UC Merced and his push for interdisciplinary research in areas critical to California’s economic future.

UC Berkeley and UCLA are the best public universities in the country, UC Merced takes a giant leap, and all nine undergrad campuses are among the top 40 public schools in the rankings’ 39th edition.

The 2023 Pitchbook rankings also found that UC Berkeley was the No. 1 public university for startup founders.

Four UC campuses are among the top 25 of all private or public universities in the country, says Forbes, while Washington Monthly finds the system excels at giving back.

All nine UC undergraduate campuses were named top academic institutions by the Princeton Review in its Best Colleges for 2024 list and its related guidebook.
